There might be changes in the program

Film Industry Office was founded as a platform for professional communication and support of Ukrainian film projects as well as a place where we can discuss tendencies and crucial questions of the future development of the industry, and introduce Ukraine to the international film industry professionals.

Pitching (competition of Ukrainian and co-produced with Ukraine feature film projects on the pre-production stage) and Work in Progress (presentations of feature films projects produced in Ukraine or co-produced with Ukraine and also projects from Eastern-European partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia and Moldova) on the final stage of production intended for theatrical distribution), EastSeries project, as well as non-competition events are held in the framework of Film Industry Office section.

Participants of the section: distributors, buyers, festival selectors, representatives of film institutes and service film companies, sales agents, filmmakers (actors, directors, scriptwriters, cameramen, art directors), producers.

Accreditation starts on April, 10th.

PROFESSIONAL SECTION FILM INDUSTRY OFFICE. 

1.1 The professional section Film Industry Office is a four-day program of presentations, panel discussions, roundtables and pitchings aimed at creating a communication platform for international and Ukrainian film industry professionals, developing Ukrainian film production and distribution, and promoting the development of international co-productions with the participation of producers from Ukraine. The professional section of the 10th Odesa International Film Festival will be held from July 16 to 19, 2019.

1.2. Applications for participation in the Professional Section through the acquisition of the Film Industry accreditation badge are accepted from any legal entities or individuals who have reached the age of 18, without any restrictions with regard to citizenship and place of residence (location), who are working in the film industry, are authors of a film / film project that corresponds with the requirements of these Regulations, or, at least, have sufficient proven experience in cinema. The organizer has the right to refuse granting accreditation without explanation. Professional Section Film Industry Office accreditation fee: 10.04 - 01.07 - 1000 UAH, 02.07 - 19.07 - 1800 UAH.

1.3. The professional section consists of competitive subsections Work in Progress and Pitching, EastSeries project, Actor's Workshop as well as non-competition events.

2. WORK IN PROGRESS 2019 REGULATIONS

This regulation is not a public promise of remuneration under the Civil Code of Ukraine

Producers and directors of feature film projects in the final stages of production or approaching a final cut (post-production) produced in Ukraine or co-produced with Ukraine and also projects from Eastern-European partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia and Moldova)* planned to be distributed in 2019-2020 are invited to participate in the Work in progress at the Odesa International Film Festival.

*projects from Eastern-European partnership will be handpicked from mentioned countries and invited to be pitched by the organizer.

2.1. Criteria for the selection of the project: In order to be selected for the Work in Progress presentation at the Odesa International Film Festival, the project should meet the following criteria:

  • The film must be full-length, narrative or documentary;
  • The project must have completed material;
  • The project must have artistic value and a commercial potential;
  • The project must be produced in Ukraine or in co-production with Ukraine.

    2.2 Documents requirements:

  • A completed registration form;
  • A trailer or fragments of the film with English subtitles (longer than 3 minutes)
  • Frames from the film in printing quality (minimum 3);
  • Director's photo (.jpeg);
  • Producer's photo (.jpeg);
  • A short biography and selected filmography of the director;
  • Completed applications for the Film Industry accreditation by each representative of the project for the Odesa International Film Festival.

    The documents should be in Ukrainian and English.

    2.3. Important dates:

    We start accepting applications for the Work in Progress presentation on April 15, 2019. The film project may be applied till June 1, 2019. The list of finalists will be announced on June 15, 2019. Work in Progress presentation on the Odesa International Film Festival will be held as a part of the Film Industry Office section on July 16 - 19, 2019.

    2.4. Printed materials: Information about the creators and the projects presented at Work in Progress will be published in the Film Industry catalog and online at oiff.com.ua.

    2.5. Rules of presentation:

    The presentation of the project at the Odesa International Film Festival could be in the form of a video (up to 5 min.) as well as free-form verbal comments by the project's representatives (up to 5 min.). Any number of representatives of the project could participate in the presentation, but the presence of the producer or the director of the project is required. The additional video and audio materials could be included in the verbal presentation. Video, audio and other materials, for the presentation of the project, must be submitted to the festival service before July 1, 2019. The organizing committee is willing to provide tech assistance for the presentations, provided all the materials are delivered on time. The organizing committee forms an international commission of experts that includes competent filmmakers, producers, investors, and festival selectors. After the presentation participants must answer the experts' questions. Additionally the audience of Work in Progress (film industry representatives and journalists) may ask questions as well. The total duration of the presentation of each project is limited to 10 minutes.

    2.6. Accommodation in Odesa: The organizing committee of the festival covers the accommodation during for 2 nights in one double-room (***hotel in Odesa) for 2 participants from each selected project. If more than 2 people present the project, their accommodation is to be covered by themselves.

    2.7. Award:

    The best project will be awarded a prize: plane tickets worth 2,000 EUR by the number one airline in Ukraine – the Ukraine International Airlines (UIA), the exclusive airline of the Odesa International Film Festival.

    2.8. By submitting their project for Work in Progress at Odesa International Film Festival, one agrees and accepts the terms and conditions described in each of the paragraphs of these regulations.

    3. PITCHING REGULATIONS 2019

    This regulation is not a public promise of remuneration under the Civil Code of Ukraine

  • The film must be feature narrative (longer than 60 minutes) and feature documentary (longer than 60 minutes);
  • The first draft of the script must be completed;
  • The project must have a producer and a director on board;
  • The project must be produced in Ukraine or in co-production with Ukraine;
  • The project must have at least 30% of confirmed funding.

    3.2. Requirements for the documents:

  • Completed application form;
  • Script, synopsis (maximum 10 pages) and treatment of the project;
  • Director's Vision (1 page);
  • Budget and Financial Plan;
  • Director's Photo (.jpeg)
  • Producer's photo (.jpeg)
  • A short biography and selected filmography of the director

    The list of the documents to be additionally provided will be sent to Finalists participating in the Pitching session.

    3.3. Important dates: Call for entries April 15, 2019 The application deadline is June 1, 2019. Finalists participating in the Pitching session will be announced on June 15, 2019. The Pitching session at the Odesa International Film Festival will be held as a part of the Film Industry Office section on July 16 - 19, 2019.

    3.4. Printed materials: Information about the creators and the projects presented at the Pitching will be published in the Film Industry catalog and online on oiff.com.ua.

    3.6. Accommodation in Odesa: The organizing committee of the festival covers the accommodation for three nights in one double room (***hotel in Odesa) for 2 participants from each selected project. If more than 2 people present the project, their accommodation is to be covered by themselves.

    3.7. The winners: The Jury of Picthing determines the winner. The winning project gets the Prize of UAH 60 000 from Odesa International Film Festival. The sum of financial reward is paid in a 3-month period after the winners are publicly announced. According to Ukrainian legislation, the income tax is to be detracted from the payment sum. The winner must include in the credits of their future film the information that this project took part in Pitching at OIFF and became the winner. The awarding ceremony for the best project will be held on July 19, 2019.

    3.8. By submitting the project for Pitching at Odesa International Film Festival, one agrees and accepts the terms and conditions described in each of the paragraphs of these regulations.

    4. Regulations for Odesa IFF EastSeries Projects

    This regulation is not a public promise of remuneration under the Civil Code of Ukraine

    4.1. The organizer Odesa IFF EastSeries Projectss is organized by the Odesa International Film Festival, supported by Star Media, the biggest film company in Ukraine, and powered by ScripTeast, the European master training programme for the best Eastern European Scriptwriters organized by the Independent Film Foundation

    4.2. Description Odesa IFF EastSeries Projects selects 4 to 6 best drama series projects with international potential, with or without a producer attached, that have been created by the best writers of Eastern and Central European origin, and/or owned by the production companies registered in one of Eastern and Central European countries, to be presented in public to potentially interested TV broadcasters, platform operators, distributors, co-producers.

    4.3. General program schedule Call Announcement March 28th, 2019 Submissions Deadline June 1st, 2019 Results' Announcement June 15th, 2019 Public Pitching July 19th, 2019

    4.4. Selection committee The selection is made by the Committee appointed by the Odesa Film Festival, StarMedia and ScripTeast jointly.

    4.5. Language The working language of Odesa IFF EastSeries Projects' pitching is English.

    4.6. Selection progress 4 to 6 original drama series projects are selected for the pitching. The selection is based on three factors:

  • the originality of drama series projects
  • the international potential of the project;
  • the writer(s)’s and/or showrunner(s)’s track records. Selection is made entirely at the discretion of the Organizer. The Organizer reserves the right not to explain or communicate the reasons why a project has not been selected. Shortlisted applicants are informed at the end of June. The final selection is announced two weeks before the pitching at the latest.

    4.7. Application process There is no application fee. The rights owner must be an individual and/or entity from Central and Eastern European countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Ukraine. Applicants must provide credits for at least one theatrical feature film, or one television feature film or television series that had already been produced, or must have extensive experience as writers, journalists or directors. Drama series projects must be an original work or an adaptation. RIGHTS OWNER MUST CONFIRM THE PROJECT’S SUBMISSION AND SIGN THE APPLICATION FORM BY June 6th, 2019, AT THE LATEST.

    4.8. Application package The digital application package must be in English and should contain:

  • Pitch (max 600 characters)
  • Log line (max 500 characters)
  • Writer’s note (max 1 200 characters)
  • Outline of the series and characters description (max 15 000 symbols)
  • Script of the pilot episode (if any)
  • Presentation file, if any (with pictures, moodboard, etc.)
  • Writer’s photo (.jpeg)
  • Showrunner's photo (.jpeg)
  • Producer's photo (.jpeg)
  • A short biography and selected filmography of the director, writer, producer
  • Copy of a valid registration document (with names of statutory representative) of the rights owner (if not the writer)
  • Photos of representatives going to the Odesa IFF EastSeries Projects (writer's, producer's, showrunner's)
  • Links to the previous work(s) of the writer(s) and producer (if any)

    4.9. Pitching Jury The selected projects are invited to public pitching, 10 minutes for each of the projects. The pitching is evaluated in public by the Jury appointed by the Odesa Film Festival, Star Media and ScripTeast jointly.

    Dear colleagues, 


    We invite you to attend Film Industry Office of the 10th Odesa International Film Festival.

    The 10th Odesa International Film Festival invites producers, directors, actors, buyers and world-sales agents, festival representatives, production specialists, and other film industry representatives to apply for Film Industry accreditation at the Odesa International Film Festival (July 12-20, 2019). 

    Film Industry Office will be held from 16th till 19th of July («Londonskaya» hotel, Prymorskyi boulevard, 11). 

    Film Industry Office accreditation is valid throughout the Festival and gives access to:
    •  All events of Film Industry Office including Pitching and Work in Progress 
    • All the screenings at the Festival Palace, Rodina Festival Center and Green Theatre in case of pre-booking and if seats are available 5 minutes before the film (LAST MINUTE ACCESS, by the venue administrator's decision, on a first-come basis);
    • The workshops, creative meetings and Q&A sessions with the festival guests (film directors, actors, producers) at the Rodina Festival Center in case of pre-booking or if seats are available; 
    • Open-air screenings; 
    • Daily parties in the festival club where come participants guests of the festival; 
    • ART-OIFF (special art-program).
    NB! Industry accreditation does not provide the access to the official Opening and Closing ceremonies of the OIFF. Entry is by invitations only (you can ask for the invitation via e-mail protocol@oiff.com.ua. Each request will be considered individually; the receiving of invitation is not guaranteed).

    Film Industry Office was founded as a platform for professional communication and support of Ukrainian film projects as well as a place where we can discuss tendencies and crucial questions of the future development of the industry, and introduce Ukraine to the international film industry professionals.

    Pitching (competition of Ukrainian and co-produced with Ukraine feature film projects on the pre-production stage) and Work in Progress (presentations of feature films projects produced in Ukraine or co-produced with Ukraine and also projects from Eastern-European partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia and Moldova) on the final stage of production intended for theatrical distribution), EastSeries project, as well as non-competition events are held in the framework of Film Industry Office section.

    Participants of the section: distributors, buyers, festival selectors, representatives of film institutes and service film companies, sales agents, filmmakers (actors, directors, scriptwriters, cameramen, art directors), producers.

    Accreditation starts on April, 10th.

    PROFESSIONAL SECTION FILM INDUSTRY OFFICE. 

    1.1 The professional section Film Industry Office is a four-day program of presentations, panel discussions, roundtables and pitchings aimed at creating a communication platform for international and Ukrainian film industry professionals, developing Ukrainian film production and distribution, and promoting the development of international co-productions with the participation of producers from Ukraine. The professional section of the 10th Odesa International Film Festival will be held from July 16 to 19, 2019.

    1.2. Applications for participation in the Professional Section through the acquisition of the Film Industry accreditation badge are accepted from any legal entities or individuals who have reached the age of 18, without any restrictions with regard to citizenship and place of residence (location), who are working in the film industry, are authors of a film / film project that corresponds with the requirements of these Regulations, or, at least, have sufficient proven experience in cinema. The organizer has the right to refuse granting accreditation without explanation. Professional Section Film Industry Office accreditation fee: 10.04 - 01.07 - 1000 UAH, 02.07 - 19.07 - 1800 UAH.

    1.3. The professional section consists of competitive subsections Work in Progress and Pitching, EastSeries project, Actor's Workshop as well as non-competition events.

    2. WORK IN PROGRESS 2019 REGULATIONS

    This regulation is not a public promise of remuneration under the Civil Code of Ukraine

    Producers and directors of feature film projects in the final stages of production or approaching a final cut (post-production) produced in Ukraine or co-produced with Ukraine and also projects from Eastern-European partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia and Moldova)* planned to be distributed in 2019-2020 are invited to participate in the Work in progress at the Odesa International Film Festival.

    *projects from Eastern-European partnership will be handpicked from mentioned countries and invited to be pitched by the organizer.

    2.1. Criteria for the selection of the project: In order to be selected for the Work in Progress presentation at the Odesa International Film Festival, the project should meet the following criteria:

  • The film must be full-length, narrative or documentary;
  • The project must have completed material;
  • The project must have artistic value and a commercial potential;
  • The project must be produced in Ukraine or in co-production with Ukraine.

    2.2 Documents requirements:

  • A completed registration form;
  • A trailer or fragments of the film with English subtitles (longer than 3 minutes)
  • Frames from the film in printing quality (minimum 3);
  • Director's photo (.jpeg);
  • Producer's photo (.jpeg);
  • A short biography and selected filmography of the director;
  • Completed applications for the Film Industry accreditation by each representative of the project for the Odesa International Film Festival.

    The documents should be in Ukrainian and English.

    2.3. Important dates:

    We start accepting applications for the Work in Progress presentation on April 15, 2019. The film project may be applied till June 1, 2019. The list of finalists will be announced on June 15, 2019. Work in Progress presentation on the Odesa International Film Festival will be held as a part of the Film Industry Office section on July 16 - 19, 2019.

    2.4. Printed materials: Information about the creators and the projects presented at Work in Progress will be published in the Film Industry catalog and online at oiff.com.ua.

    2.5. Rules of presentation:

    The presentation of the project at the Odesa International Film Festival could be in the form of a video (up to 5 min.) as well as free-form verbal comments by the project's representatives (up to 5 min.). Any number of representatives of the project could participate in the presentation, but the presence of the producer or the director of the project is required. The additional video and audio materials could be included in the verbal presentation. Video, audio and other materials, for the presentation of the project, must be submitted to the festival service before July 1, 2019. The organizing committee is willing to provide tech assistance for the presentations, provided all the materials are delivered on time. The organizing committee forms an international commission of experts that includes competent filmmakers, producers, investors, and festival selectors. After the presentation participants must answer the experts' questions. Additionally the audience of Work in Progress (film industry representatives and journalists) may ask questions as well. The total duration of the presentation of each project is limited to 10 minutes.

    2.6. Accommodation in Odesa: The organizing committee of the festival covers the accommodation during for 2 nights in one double-room (***hotel in Odesa) for 2 participants from each selected project. If more than 2 people present the project, their accommodation is to be covered by themselves.

    2.7. Award:

    The best project will be awarded a prize: plane tickets worth 2,000 EUR by the number one airline in Ukraine – the Ukraine International Airlines (UIA), the exclusive airline of the Odesa International Film Festival.

    2.8. By submitting their project for Work in Progress at Odesa International Film Festival, one agrees and accepts the terms and conditions described in each of the paragraphs of these regulations.

    3. PITCHING REGULATIONS 2019

    This regulation is not a public promise of remuneration under the Civil Code of Ukraine

    Producers and directors of feature film projects produced or co-produced with Ukraine and also projects from Eastern-European partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia and Moldova)** in the pre-production stage are invited to participate in Pitching at the Odesa International Film Festival.

    3.1. Criteria for the selection of the project: In order to be selected during the Pitching session at the Odesa International Film Festival, the project should meet the following criteria:

  • The film must be feature narrative (longer than 60 minutes) and feature documentary (longer than 60 minutes);
  • The first draft of the script must be completed;
  • The project must have a producer and a director on board;
  • The project must be produced in Ukraine or in co-production with Ukraine;
  • The project must have at least 30% of confirmed funding.

    3.2. Requirements for the documents:

  • Completed application form;
  • Script, synopsis (maximum 10 pages) and treatment of the project;
  • Director's Vision (1 page);
  • Budget and Financial Plan;
  • Director's Photo (.jpeg)
  • Producer's photo (.jpeg)
  • A short biography and selected filmography of the director

    The list of the documents to be additionally provided will be sent to Finalists participating in the Pitching session.

    3.3. Important dates: Call for entries April 15, 2019 The application deadline is June 1, 2019. Finalists participating in the Pitching session will be announced on June 15, 2019. The Pitching session at the Odesa International Film Festival will be held as a part of the Film Industry Office section on July 16 - 19, 2019.

    3.4. Printed materials: Information about the creators and the projects presented at the Pitching will be published in the Film Industry catalog and online on oiff.com.ua.

    3.6. Accommodation in Odesa: The organizing committee of the festival covers the accommodation for three nights in one double room (***hotel in Odesa) for 2 participants from each selected project. If more than 2 people present the project, their accommodation is to be covered by themselves.

    3.7. The winners: The Jury of Picthing determines the winner. The winning project gets the Prize of UAH 60 000 from Odesa International Film Festival. The sum of financial reward is paid in a 3-month period after the winners are publicly announced. According to Ukrainian legislation, the income tax is to be detracted from the payment sum. The winner must include in the credits of their future film the information that this project took part in Pitching at OIFF and became the winner. The awarding ceremony for the best project will be held on July 19, 2019.

    3.8. By submitting the project for Pitching at Odesa International Film Festival, one agrees and accepts the terms and conditions described in each of the paragraphs of these regulations.

    4. Regulations for Odesa IFF EastSeries Projects

    This regulation is not a public promise of remuneration under the Civil Code of Ukraine

    4.1. The organizer Odesa IFF EastSeries Projectss is organized by the Odesa International Film Festival, supported by Star Media, the biggest film company in Ukraine, and powered by ScripTeast, the European master training programme for the best Eastern European Scriptwriters organized by the Independent Film Foundation

    4.2. Description Odesa IFF EastSeries Projects selects 4 to 6 best drama series projects with international potential, with or without a producer attached, that have been created by the best writers of Eastern and Central European origin, and/or owned by the production companies registered in one of Eastern and Central European countries, to be presented in public to potentially interested TV broadcasters, platform operators, distributors, co-producers.

    4.4. Selection committee The selection is made by the Committee appointed by the Odesa Film Festival, StarMedia and ScripTeast jointly.

    4.5. Language The working language of Odesa IFF EastSeries Projects' pitching is English.

    4.6. Selection progress 4 to 6 original drama series projects are selected for the pitching. The selection is based on three factors:

  • the originality of drama series projects
  • the international potential of the project;
  • the writer(s)’s and/or showrunner(s)’s track records. Selection is made entirely at the discretion of the Organizer. The Organizer reserves the right not to explain or communicate the reasons why a project has not been selected. Shortlisted applicants are informed at the end of June. The final selection is announced two weeks before the pitching at the latest.

    4.7. Application process There is no application fee. The rights owner must be an individual and/or entity from Central and Eastern European countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Ukraine. Applicants must provide credits for at least one theatrical feature film, or one television feature film or television series that had already been produced, or must have extensive experience as writers, journalists or directors. Drama series projects must be an original work or an adaptation. RIGHTS OWNER MUST CONFIRM THE PROJECT’S SUBMISSION AND SIGN THE APPLICATION FORM BY June 6th, 2019, AT THE LATEST.

    4.8. Application package The digital application package must be in English and should contain:

  • Pitch (max 600 characters)
  • Log line (max 500 characters)
  • Writer’s note (max 1 200 characters)
  • Outline of the series and characters description (max 15 000 symbols)
  • Script of the pilot episode (if any)
  • Presentation file, if any (with pictures, moodboard, etc.)
  • Writer’s photo (.jpeg)
  • Showrunner's photo (.jpeg)
  • Producer's photo (.jpeg)
  • A short biography and selected filmography of the director, writer, producer
  • Copy of a valid registration document (with names of statutory representative) of the rights owner (if not the writer)
  • Photos of representatives going to the Odesa IFF EastSeries Projects (writer's, producer's, showrunner's)
  • Links to the previous work(s) of the writer(s) and producer (if any)

    4.9. Pitching Jury The selected projects are invited to public pitching, 10 minutes for each of the projects. The pitching is evaluated in public by the Jury appointed by the Odesa Film Festival, Star Media and ScripTeast jointly.

    5.Non-competition events

    Specialized educational projects for film professionals, panel discussions, round tables, master classes, etc., are held annually within the framework of the non-competition events of the Professional Section.   • Information about accreditation for Film Industry Office of the 10th Odesa International Film Festival

    Dear colleagues, 


    We invite you to attend Film Industry Office of the 10th Odesa International Film Festival.

    The 10th Odesa International Film Festival invites producers, directors, actors, buyers and world-sales agents, festival representatives, production specialists, and other film industry representatives to apply for Film Industry accreditation at the Odesa International Film Festival (July 12-20, 2019). 

    Film Industry Office will be held from 16th till 19th of July («Londonskaya» hotel, Prymorskyi boulevard, 11). 

    Film Industry Office accreditation is valid throughout the Festival and gives access to:
    •  All events of Film Industry Office including Pitching and Work in Progress 
    • All the screenings at the Festival Palace, Rodina Festival Center and Green Theatre in case of pre-booking and if seats are available 5 minutes before the film (LAST MINUTE ACCESS, by the venue administrator's decision, on a first-come basis);
    • The workshops, creative meetings and Q&A sessions with the festival guests (film directors, actors, producers) at the Rodina Festival Center in case of pre-booking or if seats are available; 
    • Open-air screenings; 
    • Daily parties in the festival club where come participants guests of the festival; 
    • ART-OIFF (special art-program).
    NB! Industry accreditation does not provide the access to the official Opening and Closing ceremonies of the OIFF. Entry is by invitations only (you can ask for the invitation via e-mail protocol@oiff.com.ua. Each request will be considered individually; the receiving of invitation is not guaranteed). 

    Application forms are open until July, 19th.

    if you apply from April,10 till July, 1st - 1000 UAH,
    if you apply from 2nd till 19th July - 1800 UAH.
