OIFF Live to host film director Nariman Aliev

Odesa International Film Festival continues a series of live streams with representatives of the world film industry. This Thursday OIFF live will host the Ukrainian film director Nariman Aliev, the winner of the 10th Odesa International Film Festival Grand Prix for his film Homeward

The live stream will take place April 23, 7:00 pm Kyiv time (6 pm CET) on the OIFF Instagram page. The host of the OIFF live is Julia Sinkevich, general producer of the Odesa International Film Festival.

Nariman Aliev is a Ukrainian director and screenwriter of Crimean Tatar origin. In 2016 his short film Without You / Sensis from the trilogy Crimean stories was nominated for Crystal Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival. Nariman's relatives - cousins ​Fevzi and Remzi - Bilyalov starred in the movie. Two years later in 2019 the director presented his full-length debut Home / Evge in the Cannes Film Festival's Un Certain Regard section. The movie became the most talked about in the Ukrainian film industry last year. In particular it has won the Grand Prix of the 10th Odesa International Film Festival, and later got to the Oscars and the Golden Globes longlist. The film has also won major prizes at film festivals in Bucharest and Istanbul.

OIFF Live has hosted the artistic director of Karlovy Vary International Film Festival Karel Och, British director, producer and screenwriter Peter Webber, Ukrainian director and actor Akhtem Seitablaiev and director of the Vilnius International Film Festival Kino Pavasaris Algirdas Ramaška.
