Eric Roberts – a special guest of the 9th OIFF

American actor, Oscar and Golden Globe nominee, will be a special guest of the OIFF-2018 and will hold a creative workshop

In his career span Roberts has amassed more than 500 roles and 100 Broadway performances. He studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and later at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York.

Roberts' first big TV debut came in 1976, but only in 1978 he got his first role in a full-length movie King of the Gypsies (directed by Frank Pierson) for which he was nominated for the Golden Globe Award. Together with him the movie starred Susan Sarandon, Brooke Shields, Sterling Hayden, and Shelley Winters.

He was again recognized by the Golden Globes for his role in Bob Fosse's Star 80 (1983) and Andrei Konchalovsky’s Runaway Train (1985). The Runaway Train also brought him an Oscar nomination.

His numerous credits also include the Dark Knight (Christopher Nolan), The Expendables (Sylvester Stallone), the Inherent Vice (Paul Thomas Anderson), the Final Analysis (Phil Joanou) etc. He has recently starred in a psychological thriller The Perception made by a Ukrainian director Evhen Nozhechkin known by the name of Jensen Noen.
