The Odesa Film Festival introduces a new nomination – People’s Choice Award in the National Competition
This year the festival introduces a new nomination – People’s Choice Award of the National Competition. The winner will get 60 000 UAH.
The winning film in the new nomination will be determined by the audience of the film festival, who will rate the national competition participants on a scale from 1 to 5 immediately after the end of the screening for each of the films. The calculation of the results of the vote is conducted under the control of independent auditors with impeccable reputation (as a rule, one of the “big four” companies).
“From festival to festival, we see a growing interest in Ukrainian cinema from the audience. In fact, there are more and more Ukrainian being made. In 2018, out of 1011 applications submitted to us, 230 came from Ukraine. In addition, our films are gaining in quality every year. So this year, we decided to give viewers the right to choose their favorite not only in the International but also in the National Program”, says Julia Sinkevych, the General Producer of OIFF.
We remind you that the National Competition Program includes narrative and documentary feature and short films of all genres of Ukrainian production or made in co-production with Ukraine, completed after January 1, 2018. All nominations in all programs can be found on the OIFF website in the “Regulations” section.
Applications for participation in the competition programs of the 10th Odesa International Film Festival will be accepted until April 12, 2019.
