EastSeries of the 10th Odesa International Film Festival is accepting submissions

Submissions will be accepted until May, 27th

EastSeries is a platform for presenting the best TV series from Central and Eastern Europe through public pitching. The program is organized by the Odesa International Film Festival with the support of Star Media, international film company in Ukraine, in cooperation with ScripTeast, a training program for screenwriters from Eastern Europe, and in partnership with Series Mania. In 2019, this competition will take place for the third time at OIFF.

For participation in Public Pitching, 4 to 6 best television series titles with international potential will be selected, which were written by the best screenwriters of Eastern and Central European origin and/or projects owned by production companies registered in one of Eastern and Central European countries.

The details of selecting and submitting documents for participation in EastSeries can be found on the official website of OIFF in the section “Film Industry Office”. Applications for the EastSeries program will be accepted until the end of May. The selection of projects is carried out by the Pitching Selection Commission. The final list of Pitching film projects will be made public on the official website of OIFF on June 15, and the selected projects will be presented to TV producers, distributors, co-producers in July at the pitching of series projects. The best Pitching project at the Odesa Film Festival will be chosen by the jury, which includes leading international experts: producers, film fund representatives and other successful film industry companies from around the world. The prize is a complex of post-production services for the amount of 20 000 EUR from the company Star Media. The winner will also receive a place at the Writers' Campus in partnership with SERIES MANIA.

Last year, 6 projects took part in pitching. The winning project was “Family Archives” (Marjan Alcevski, Andamion Murataj, Croatia). In addition, “Smokey Eyes” (Małgorzata Pilacińska, Poland) was awarded a special award by Series Mania – the team was invited to take part in the Series Mania Writers’ Campus 2019.

ScripTeast is a European training program for the best screenwriters from Eastern Europe organized by the Independent Film Foundation (Poland). Since 2006, the program has developed 137 scripts, 43 of which have been implemented and shown at many international film festivals, or are currently in production.

Star Media is an international film company that specializes in the production and distribution of films for theatres and TV, telenovelas and series, television programs and docudramas, which are being successfully broadcast on leading Ukrainian and foreign TV channels.
