Call for Pitching and Work in progress projects at the Film Industry Office 10th Odesa International Film Festival is open! Applications are accepted from April, 16 till May, 27
Film Industry Office is a platform for professional communication and support of Ukrainian film projects as well as a place where can be discussed tendencies and crucial questions for the future development of the industry, and introduce Ukraine to the international film industry professionals. The main competitive programs are Pitching and Work in progress.
This year, for the first time, in order to enforce stronger regional presence and contribution to cultural and economic cooperation with Ukraine, OIFF opens its doors to projects coming from Eastern Partnership countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia and Moldova. Both fiction and documentaries in development or work-in-progress stage will be selectioned from mentioned countries and invited to pitch in the relevant sections of the Film Industry Office.
Branded as OIFF Expanded delegations will benefit from networking events of the Festival and aim at all existing industry prizes. By taking this new step, the Film Industry Office will contribute to practical implementation of a regional cooperation policy and play a proactive role in bringing mentioned countries’ professionals together.
Odesa International Film Festival’s Pitching is a competition of Ukrainian and co-produced with Ukraine feature film projects, as well as projects from the countries of the Eastern European Partnership (OIFF Expanded), intended for theatrical and film festival distribution. 10 full-length projects (fiction and documentaries) will be selected by the selective committee to participate to the 2019 Pitching.
The main goal of the Pitching is to draw the attention of potential investors, sales agents, festival selectors, and the professional audience to Ukrainian film projects. The winner is determined by an expert jury. The winning project gets a Prize of 60 000 UAH from Odesa International Film Festival. Work in progress at the Odesa International Film Festival is a presentation of completed feature-length films by their producers and directors, to be distributed in 2019-2020. The selection committee selects 10 feature film projects at the final stage of shooting or in post-production, produced in Ukraine or in co-production with Ukraine, as well as projects from the countries of the Eastern European Partnership (OIFF Expanded).
Projects should meet the international quality standards to be demonstrated in the frame of the Work in progress presentation. The main goal of the Work in progress presentation is to promote Ukrainian films in the world and in local markets, and to draw the attention of international distributors as well as to find the partners for future projects. The winner is determined by an expert jury. The best project will be awarded plane tickets worth 2,000 EUR by – Ukraine International Airlines (UIA), the exclusive airline of the Odesa International Film Festival and the number one airline in Ukraine. We accept applications for the Pitching and Work in progress presentation from April 16 till May, 27. The list of finalists will be published on the website on June 15. Film Industry Office (Work in progress and Pitching) will be held from July 16th till July 19th.
