WORK IN PROGRESS 2017 REGULATIONS
 
Producers and directors of feature film projects in the final stage of shooting or in final cut period (post-production) produced in Ukraine or co-produced with Ukraine are invited to participate in the Work in progress at the Odessa International Film Festival.
 
1. Criteria for the selection of the project:
In order to be selected in the Work in progress presentation at Odessa International Film Festival, the project should meet the following criteria:
  • The film should be full-length, narrative or documentary;
  • The project should have the completed material;
  • The project should have an art value and a commercial potential;
  • The project should be produced in Ukraine or in co-production with Ukraine.
 
2. Requirements to the documents:
  • Completed registration form;
  • A trailer or fragments of the film with English subtitles (longer than 3 minutes)
  • The printing quality frames from the film (min 3 pieces);
  • Director's photo (.jpeg);
  • Producer's photo (.jpeg);
  • Short biography and selected filmography of the director;
  • Completed applications for the Film Industry accreditation on each representative of the project at the Odessa International Film Festival.
The documents should be written in Ukrainian and English.
 
3. Important dates:
We start accepting applications for the Work in progress presentation on April 17, 2017.
The film project may be applied till May 31, 2017.
The list of finalists will be announced on June 19, 2017.
Work in progress presentation at the Odessa International Film Festival will be held as a part of the Film Industry Office section. The exact date will be announced further.
 
4. Printed materials:
Information about the creators and the projects presented at the Work in progress will be published in the Film Industry catalog and online at oiff.com.ua.
 
5. Rules of the presentation:
Presentation of the project at the Odessa International Film Festival could be held as a video show (up to 5 min.) as well as verbal comments in a free form by the project's representatives (up to 5 min.). Any number of representatives of the project could participate in the presentation, but the presence of the producer or the director of the project is required.
The additional video and audio materials could be included in the verbal presentation.
Video, audio and other materials, participating in the presentation of the project, must be submitted to the festival service before July 4, 2017. The organizing committee is willing to provide tech assistance for the presentations in case all the materials are delivered in time.
Organizing committee forms the international commission of experts including competent filmmakers, producers, investors, and festival selectors. After the presentation participants should answer the questions from the experts. Additionally the audience of Work in progress (film industry representatives and journalists) may ask questions as well. The total duration of the presentation of each project is limited to 10 minutes.
 
6. Accommodation in Odessa:
The organizing committee of the festival covers the accommodation during two nights in a double-room (***hotel in Odessa) for 2 participants from each selected project. If more than 2 people present the project, their accommodation is to be covered by themselves.
 
7. Award:
The best project will be awarded a prize: plane tickets worth 2,000 Euro by the number one airline in Ukraine – the Ukraine International Airlines (UIA), the exclusive airline of the Odesa International Film Festival.
 
8. By applying the project in the Work in progress at Odessa International Film Festival, one agrees and accepts the terms and conditions described in each of the paragraphs of these regulations.
