The Leading Role
Ukraine / 2016 / 63 min
This is a film about my mother, a film actress Nina Antonova. She's got about a hundred roles, big and small. She was recognised by the public, she was a celebrity. This is a very personal story. Funny and sad. About the diluted identity overshadowed by a man, her filmmaker-husband, my father... It is about my family life and films, which were inseparable, and those involved who often mistook an alternate reality for real life. About dependency and newfound freedom. About the change of fate. About new roles, and new hopes...
