The business event UVCA Investors Day with the support of OIFF and TA Ventures, which took place on July 15 within the framework of the OIFF business platform, started off a series of business events that will be held during the film festival. The OIFF business platform is of interest primarily to investors, distributors, representatives of the film and IT industries.
The programme UVCA Investors Day consisted of two discussion sections, pitching start-ups and networking in an informal atmosphere. The event started with a public talk by José Marin (co-founder and CEO of IG Expansion, co-founder of FJ Labs, Super Angel investor) and Andriy Kolodyuk (Managing Partner of AVentures Capital and Chairman of UVCA), followed by a panel discussion with Mikhail Merkulov (Active angel investor, CEO of Arricano Real Estate), Andriy Kolodyuk and Konstantin Magaletskiy (partner at Horizon Capital), moderated by Viktoriya Tigipko (founding partner of the venture fund TA Ventures and president of OIFF). At the beginning of the panel discussion, Viktoriya Tigipko noted: “Investments in Ukrainian start-ups are primarily coming from private capital, which why it is important to hold meetings of investors and exchange experiences”.
At the end of the discussion section, the guests were greeted by Tatiana Nikitina, the inspirer and director of the creative space Stalkanat Art, where the UVCA Investors Day was held. “The task of the festival is to find the best among the good, and the festival is doing quite well with this task”, she said.
After the discussion section, there was a pitching of Ukrainian start-ups presented within the framework of UVCA Investors Day, and networking, the informal atmosphere of which was created in due part thanks to the official partner of the Odesa Film Festival TM Ararat.
