6th Odessa International Film Festival Announces Its Winners
On July 18, 2015, the Odessa Academic Theatre of Musical Comedy hosted the closing ceremony of the 6th Odessa International Film Festival. The Grand Prix of the OIFF, determined by audience voting, went to Mustang, the Turkish film by Deniz Gamze Ergüven. The international Jury headed by Jeanne Labrune announced winners for Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actor. Eva Neymann was awarded the Golden Duke award for Song of Songs as Best Ukrainian feature film and Best Film of the International Competition program as determined by the Jury. Ukrainian filmmaker Myroslav Slaboshpytskiy handed the Golden Duke award for Lifetime Achievement to Darren Aronofsky.

Cult American director Darren Aronofsky came to the Odessa International Film Festival to speak to the attendees of the Summer Film School about the funding sources, filmmaking and about the intricacies of this kind of work, as well as about the future of cinema.

The 6th Odessa International Film Festival Presents its first awards to ukrainian cinematographers
On July 17, OIFF named the winners of the first awards. The Duke for the Best Short Film in National Competition Program received MAN’S WORK, directed by Maria Stepanska. Awards for the best projects within Pitching and Work in Progress sections of Film Industry Office, Best Ukrainian Acting, as well as the award for the Best Ukrainian Films according to the FIPRESCI jury were also presented.
MARCO MUELLER VISITED THE OIFF. MASS MEDIA MEASURE THE VALUE OF A FESTIVAL
Marco Mueller, a former director of the film festivals in Locarno, Rotterdam, Rome and Venice, film critic and producer, came to the 6th Odessa International Film Festival to give a lecture for attendees of the Summer Film School and share his vision of purpose and structure of modern festivals.
