OIFF FILMS HIT THE RATES OF THE BEST: TIME, GOLDEN GLOBE, HOLLYWOOD AWARDS

Films, premiered in Ukraine at Odessa International Film Festival, win awards and hit the best rates all over the world.

"Amour" by Michael Haneke (OIFF Festival of Festivals program) was the first in the list of Ten Best Films 2012 by TIME magazine. Another two OIFF features, "The Beasts of Southern Wild" by Ben Zeitlin (OIFF Festival of Festivals program) and "Dark Horse" by Todd Solondz (retrospective to honor festival's guest Todd Solondz), were also inlcuded into the list.

Many OIFF films are also nominated for the upcoming Golden Globe Awards. "Moonrise Kingdom" by Wes Anderson (OIFF Gala Premieres program) nominated for the Best Comedy and Musical. In Odessa the film got the warmest welcome in crowded audiences. Marion Cotillard with "Rust and Bone" nominated for the Best Actress in Drama Film. Three out of five films in the Best Foreign Film section were presented in Odessa, namely Haneke's "Amour", Audiard's "Rust and Bone" and Aksel's "Royal Affair".

Phil Volken's "Garbage", which took part in the OIFF competition program and was presented by the director himself, Michael Madsen and Daryl Hannah, was honored as Best Feature Film at the Hollywood Film Festival. Marion Cotillard became the Best Actress, and Quvenzhane Wallis the New Hollywood for her appearance in "The Beasts of Southern Wild".
