Aidan Turner joins the Jury of the 8th OIFF
Irish actor Aidan Turner will join the jury of the National Competition Program of the 8th Odesa International Film Festival

Turner’s acting career began at the Irish National Abbey Theater in 2004. In 2008, Turner debuted with a major role in the film “Alarm” (directed by Gerard Stembridge). In addition, Turner starred in such TV series as: “Desperate Romantics”, “The Tudors”, “And There Was No One”, “Poldark”, “Being Human”. The actor came to world fame with his role of the dwarf Kili in Peter Jackson’s trilogy “The Hobbit”.

In 2014, the actor won an Empire Award in the nomination “Best Male Newcomer” for his role in the film “The Hobbit”. Turner is also the winner of two Broadcasting Press Guild Awards in the category “Breakthrough of the Year” for his roles in the TV series “And There Was No One” and “Poldark”, as well as the National Television Award for his work in the TV series “Poldark”.

Since 2014, Aidan Turner has been a regular guest of the Odesa International Film Festival. This year, the actor became the face of the promo video for the 8th OIFF.

“I want to come to Odessa again and again... I immediately felt the heartbeat and the pulse of this city”, said the actor during his master class for the Summer Film School in the framework of OIFF-2014. At the Odessa International Film Festival-2017, Aidan Turner will join the jury of the National Competition Program.

Earlier it was announced that Rimma Zyubina, Christian Petzold, Sibel Kekilli, Natalia Vorozhbyt and Roman Bondarchuk will become members of the jury of the 8th OIFF, which will be held from 14 to 22 of July. The name of the Head of the Jury will be known later.
