Charles Tesson
Art director of the the parallel section Critics’ Week of the Cannes Film Festival

Charles Tesson is the art director of the Critics’ Week – the parallel section of the Cannes Film Festival, a professor at the University of Sorbonne in Paris, where he teaches cinema, history and aesthetics. From 1979 to 2013 he wrote texts about cinema for the French magazine “Les Cahiers du cinema”, and in 1998-2003 he was its editor. He has written a number of works, including “Satyajit Ray” (1992), “Luis Bunuel” (1995), “Akira Kurosawa” (2008) and others. Since 2011, he is the art director of the Critics’ Week programme at the Cannes International Film Festival.
