Vitaly Mansky: “Dogma cannot exist for art”
The Head of the National jury of the competition program of the 5th Odessa Film Festival, Vitaly Mansky held a creative meeting with participants of the Summer Film School. Famous Russian documentary film maker spoke to the students of the OIFF educational session about their works, told about the art of shooting a documentary film and shared his plans for the near future.

Maidan by Sergei Loznitsa: Cannes - Odessa - World
The long-awaited premiere of the film "Maidan" by Sergei Loznitsa was held at the Odessa International Film Festival. Documentary chronicles of the civil conflict in Kiev is presented in two OIFF sections simultaneously: special screenings and "Way to Freedom". At the premiere, the audience in Odessa stood up to sing the Ukrainian hymn, many cried. Between the two screenings of the picture, Sergei Loznitsa and creative team of the film "Maidan" answered questions from journalists at a press conference.
David Puttnam at the OIFF: Master class of the British Lord
Director and producer, a guru in the film education, Oscar winner, the head of Columbia Pictures (1986-1988) conducted an online master class for students of the Summer Film School at Odessa Film Festival. The theme of the meeting - "Digital Destinations: Opportunities and Challenges for the film in the Internet age".
FIRST WINNERS OF THE 5TH OIFF: PITCHING, WORK IN PROGRESS, BEST UKRAINIAN SHORT AND BEST UKRAINIAN ACTING
Today, on July 18, at the OIFF Festival Palace the first awards of the 5th Odessa Film Festival were presented: the Golden Duke award for the Best Ukrainian Short Film from according to the international jury of the National Competition, awards for the Best projects within Pitching and Work in Progress sections of Film Industry Office, as well as the award for the Best Ukrainian Feature according to the FIPRESCI jury.

On July 18 a press conference took place with the directors of the second wave of pictures that are competing to become Best Ukrainian Short Film. The authors shared the up-to-date subjects of Ukrainian cinema and film industry development with the press.
